I came to Vancouver Mar. 21, 2022, and it was a roller coaster ride. I have had many challenges and have had to switch courses and schools. The company where I’ve been working was generous enough to provide LMIA support, before hand I have no idea how things goes and what legal percussion would it bear, yes there are lots of information online but one couldn't distinguish which are factual and which are hearsay, luckily I was introduced to Ms. Itzel of Lifeabroad Consulting by a co-worker, ever since then I let her handle my case, my case was a student visa converting to a work permit, but my designated learning institution is not credited hence I am not eligible for post graduate work permit. My first application was rejected that is the time when my student visa is about to expire and need to convert to work permit on the basis that my LMIA decision was not out yet, Ms. Itzel was helpful to assist and guide me through the entire process when the LMIA decision came out and it was a positive one, we then applied the second time around for a work permit, but to my dismay, it was rejected again by the immigration, they said that they are doubtful on my true motive and that they think I might not go back home when they issue a work permit in my favor, this is the peak time where the government is capping the numbers of students and immigrants. I was disheartened and went through a period of depression. I was thinking of whether to pursue the re-application of a work permit and restoration of status since I was already out of status then, aside from which I am not allowed to work anymore. I have to live on my savings, but at the back of my mind, my thought was to give it one last chance, although it may have seemed to be on a thin line to success at that time since I had already been rejected 3 times, but I am a fighter. So, I still drew the last straw and told Ms. Itzel to push for the case, although it was a 50/50 chance. Ms. Itzel aided me throughout the entire process and guided me on everything that is needed for the documentation etc. I was totally unaware of the procedure and processes; it was a good thing that Ms. Itzel was there to guide me and assist me through everything. After months of waiting, I finally got the final decision from immigration, and this time, it was a yes. They finally approved my work permit last Sept. 2024, and I was granted a 2-year period of work permit. I would highly recommend the services of Ms. Itzel, she is very professional and very knowledgeable of the immigration law and she can definitely aid you in your current circumstances and have options to make it work for you, even in a very negative situation like mine, she could think of ways to make things happen; one just needs to give full trust, cooperate, and be patience.
